Viviana Gonçalves (KOL)Mrs

Viviana Pinto is a Portuguese registered nurse and healthcare leader with more than 13 years of international experience across Portugal and the United Kingdom. She served as a Nurse Manager and Specialist Nurse Practitioner in complex wound care and tissue viability at Centro Hospitalar Universitário de São João in Portugal. Her broad clinical background includes cardiothoracic intensive care, operating theatre and anaesthesia nursing, and the care of adult, neonatal, and paediatric patients. This combination of specialist expertise and operational leadership enables her to connect evidence-based clinical practice with service development, patient safety, and measurable organisational improvement. She leads initiatives in wound care, pressure injury prevention, clinical policy development, staff education, quality improvement, strategy, and team management. Viviana holds a Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Critical Care, a postgraduate qualification in Healthcare Management, Administration, and Finance, and specialist preparation in wound care. She is currently undertaking a PhD in Nursing Sciences and pursuing Nurse Executive board certification. She also serves as a Council Member of the European Wound Management Association. Alongside her clinical and leadership responsibilities, Viviana has developed a strong profile in research, scientific publication, teaching, professional education, policy implementation, accreditation, and clinical governance. She is committed to advancing nursing practice through compassionate leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, and the consistent translation of research evidence into safer, higher-quality care for patients and families across diverse healthcare environments worldwide.
