These guidelines apply to all abstract submitter for the World Union of Wound Healing Societies (WUWHS) Congress 2026.
Contents of your abstract
- The maximum word count for an abstract is 250, and it should EXCLUDE the title, authors' names and affiliations. Table, figures and images are not to be included. The scientific committee reserves the right to edit abstracts that exceed the word limit.
- Abstracts that exceed the word limit, authors' names, or affiliations may be edited by the scientific committee at their discretion.
- Write the title of the abstract in CAPITAL LETTERS and keep it as brief as possible.
- Do not write any identifying features such as hospitals, medical schools, clinics, or cities in the title or abstract text. A “blind” review process will be used.
- Please indicate on your submission if the paper is to be evaluated as oral presentation, electronic poster presentation, or display.
- The abstract must include the following:
Language: English
Word Limit: Max 250 words (excluding title, authors' names, and affiliations). Extra content may be edited.
Structure:
Title: Formulate a title that concisely and accurately portrays the content of the abstract
Background: Briefly state the clinical or scientific context and the knowledge gap that prompted the study
Aim: Clearly state the primary aim or research question of the study
Methods: Describe the study or project design (e.g.,randomized controlled trial, cohort study, systematic review), setting, participants, or data sources and primary outcome measures. Include abrief analytical approach
Results: Report the main findings or significant outcomes that are directly related to the aim/objectives and purpose of the study
Conclusions: Provide a summary of what the results mean, highlight the outcomes, and any clinical or scientific implications or applications
Co-authors: Up to 10 per abstract
Anonymous Submission: Do not include authors' names, affiliations, hospitals, cities, etc., in title or text.
Previously Presented Work: The abstract must not be presented at any international congress unless it includes updated new data. Only abstracts with significant new data will be considered for acceptance.
- Use of brand names: Generic names must be used for any product or company references. At the bottom of the abstract page, the brand name can be added as a reference.
- Papers containing brand names/company names in the abstract text (i.e. not in a reference at the bottom of the page) may be rejected for this reason only. The scientific committee reserves the right to replace any brand name with a generic name without further notice.
- Previously Presented Work: The abstract must not be presented at any international congress unless it includes updated new data. Only abstracts with significant new data will be considered for acceptance.
