Ann Marie Nie
Ann Marie Nie holds a nursing PhD and is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in wound, ostomy and continence care. She is currently employed at Dayton Children’s Hospital as a Wound NP and Pressure Injury Preventionist. She has worked in the pediatric pressure injury arena since 2006. She was inducted as a WOCN Fellow in June 2024. She was instrumental in the development of a pediatric pressure injury prevention program in 3 pediatric hospitals. She speaks nationally and internationally in pediatric PI prevention measures, wound care, ostomy and neonatal skin. She has performed research on risk factors for PI development in all ages of pediatric patients from extremely premature infants to age 21 and on premature infant skin. She is currently researching a pressure injury risk assessment score for premature infants to age 21 of hospitalized pediatric patients that was developed using the results of her research in PI risk factors. Ann Marie Nie is the current Secretary, Chair of the Education Committee and Chair of the Annual Conference for the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel. She is also the chair of an international collaborative to develop a pressure injury staging system for the premature infant.
