Ana Paula dos Santos Albuquerque

Dr. Ana Paula dos Santos Albuquerque, RN, PhD, is a Brazilian nurse, professor, researcher, and entrepreneur with over 22 years of experience in diabetic foot prevention, wound management, and regenerative therapies. She holds a PhD in Nursing from the University of Pernambuco (Brazil) and has postgraduate training in Dermatological Nursing, Clinical Podiatry, Laser Therapy, Ozone Therapy, Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, and Regenerative Medicine. She is the CEO of a specialized wound care clinic in Northeastern Brazil and coordinates wound care services within the public healthcare system. Dr. Albuquerque led the implementation of one of the first public outpatient wound care centers in the state of Pernambuco, providing specialized care for more than 1,000 patients each month. Dr. Albuquerque is the first nurse from Northern and Northeastern Brazil to complete the Master in Diabetic Foot at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where she also completed advanced clinical training in diabetic foot units at Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal, Hospital Universitario Fundación Alcorcón, and the diabetic foot outpatient clinic of Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. Her clinical practice and research focus on diabetic foot prevention, offloading strategies, advanced wound therapies, regenerative medicine, and innovative approaches to reducing diabetes-related lower-limb amputations. She is the author of the book *Essential Preventive Care for the Feet of People with Diabetes* and is an invited speaker at national and international scientific meetings, dedicated to advancing evidence-based, multidisciplinary, and patient-centered wound care.
