Emily Haesler
Doctor Emily Haesler is an Adjunct Professor at Wound Healing and Management Collaborative (WHAM, Curtin University) and has joint appointments as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Australian Centre for Evidence Based Aged Care (La Trobe University) and as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the ANU School of Medicine and Psychology (Australian National University). She was awarded Wounds Australia Fellowship in 2021. Emily is a GRADE-certified and ISO-trained international methodologist and accreditor, with extensive expertise in developing clinical guidelines, clinical and education standards and consensus documents including the World Council of Enterostomal Therapists International Ostomy Guideline and the International Wound Infection Institute’s clinical guidance documents. Emily is also the methodologist for the International Pressure Injury Guideline (since 2012). She has developed the Australian Standards for Wound Prevention and Management and the Australian Standards for Health Practitioner Pain Management Education. She leads the development of the WHAM evidence summaries, is a lead investigator on WHAM research projects, supervises research students, has editorial roles on several prominent wound and nursing journals, and accredits medical education programs in Australia. Emily’s research interests include research methodology and evidence synthesis, low-middle resource wound practice, consumer engagement, reflective practice, staff-family relationships, dementia care, junior doctor wellbeing and vertical integration in learning.
