Miki Fuji
Dr. Miki Fujii is an Associate Professor in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Tokyo Medical University Hospital, Japan. She specializes in diabetic foot management, limb salvage, and wound care, leading both clinical practice and translational research in this field. She trained in podiatric medicine as a Visiting Scholar under Dr. David G. Armstrong at the Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA), University of Arizona. Dr. Fujii has extensive experience in multidisciplinary limb salvage and previously served as Director of the Critical Limb Ischemia Center at Kitaharima Medical Center in Japan. Dr. Fujii is an executive board member and Secretary of the International Association of Diabetic Foot Surgeons and a board member of the International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF) 2027. She also serves on the boards of multiple Japanese academic societies related to plastic surgery, wound care, and foot medicine. Her research focuses on advanced strategies for limb salvage, including imaging-based diagnosis of osteomyelitis, apheresis therapies for no-option chronic limb-threatening ischemia, and regenerative approaches using platelet-rich plasma and biologic materials. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and received several international awards, including the Dr. Robert W. Hobson II Award at the Diabetic Limb Salvage Conference.
