Pierre is a practicing Orthotist/Prosthetist based in Cape Town, with a career in the field dating back to 2019. He earned his Diploma in Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics from the Tshwane University of Technology in 2016, and went on to further his expertise by completing his B-Tech degree in the same discipline in 2019. Since joining Chin and Partners in Cape Town, Pierre has cultivated a strong passion for designing and manufacturing custom-made foot orthotic insoles, helping patients improve their biomechanical alignment and find relief from painful foot conditions. This dedication to delivering a high standard of patient care has since expanded into a specialised focus on diabetic feet and their associated complications. Today, the treatment of DFU has become one of Pierre's core areas of expertise within his practice. Building on this specialisation, he is now working toward the next phase of his professional development: establishing an MDT approach at local hospitals. Through this initiative, Pierre aims to strengthen collaborative, effective wound-healing outcomes while providing long-term protection for patients through orthotic devices and techniques. Combining clinical expertise with a hands-on, patient-centred approach, Pierre is committed to advancing best practices in orthotic care, particularly for patients managing the complex challenges of diabetic foot disease. His work reflects a deep commitment to both technical precision and compassionate, individualised treatment, positioning him as a dedicated advocate for improved outcomes in orthotics and prosthetics care.
