ANBARRASU ND A/L BASKARANDr

Dr Anbarrasu ND Baskaran is a medical practitioner and wound care clinician from Malaysia, with nearly 20 years of clinical experience in orthopaedics and a growing specialization in advanced wound management. He currently serves as the Head of the Wound Care Unit at Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim (HSAH), Sungai Petani, Kedah, where he leads multidisciplinary wound care services involving complex chronic wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, venous leg ulcers, and challenging surgical and orthopaedic wounds. Dr Anbarrasu holds an MD from Hasanuddin University, Indonesia, and postgraduate qualifications in Wound Management, with a particular interest in tissue viability, wound microbiology, biofilm, infection prevention, wound bed preparation, and innovative approaches to wound care delivery. He is actively involved in professional wound care education and capacity building in Malaysia, serving in leadership and educational roles within the Malaysian Society of Wound Care Professionals (MSWCP) and contributing to wound care training, clinical mentorship, and multidisciplinary education. He is also involved in developing digital and quality-improvement initiatives, including wound surveillance, clinical dashboards, wound trajectory monitoring, and standardized wound care processes. His clinical philosophy focuses on integrating evidence-based wound science with practical bedside care, while improving systems, education, and patient outcomes through multidisciplinary collaboration. He is passionate about advancing wound care as a specialized clinical discipline and developing sustainable, data-driven wound services within the Malaysian healthcare system.
