Professor Pornprom Muangman, MD, FACS, FICS, FRCS(T), is Professor of Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in burn surgery, wound healing, tissue engineering, and reconstructive wound management.
Professor Muangman completed advanced research training at the University of Washington Burn Center and Harborview Medical Center, Seattle, USA, where he focused on burn care, wound repair, and scar biology. Over the past two decades, he has dedicated his career to advancing the science and clinical practice of burn and wound management.
His research interests include innovative wound dressings, regenerative therapies, tissue engineering, scar prevention, and evidence-based burn treatment. He has led numerous clinical and translational research projects and has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals. His innovations in wound care technology, including herbal extract-coated wound dressings and advanced biomaterial-based therapies, have received several prestigious awards from national and international organizations.
Professor Muangman currently serves as President of the Burn and Wound Healing Society of Thailand and President of the International College of Surgeons (Thailand Section). He is actively involved in regional and international collaborations aimed at improving standards of burn and wound care across the Asia-Pacific region.
Through his clinical leadership, research achievements, and commitment to surgical education, Professor Muangman continues to make significant contributions to the advancement of burn care and wound healing worldwide.
