Prashini Moodley

Prof. Prashini Moodley is a Clinical Microbiologist and Infection Prevention and Control specialist based in South Africa. Her work focuses on the laboratory diagnosis and management of infectious diseases, implementation of antimicrobial stewardship programmes, and the prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections. She has extensive experience in clinical microbiology, research, teaching, outbreak response, and healthcare leadership. She is an Honorary Professor in the School of Medicine at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and practices at PathCare Diagnostic Laboratories, South Africa. Prof. Moodley is actively involved in international multidisciplinary collaborations and consensus initiatives in wound infection management and education. She serves on the Committee of the International Wound Infection Institute (IWII). She has published extensively and has contributed to international consensus documents and guidelines on wound infection management.
