Aiwei Foster
Aiwei Foster is an endorsed Nurse Practitioner specialising in wound and lymphoedema management, bringing more than 20 years of clinical expertise in complex wound care. Her practice spans both private clinical work and her role as Wound Clinical Nurse Consultant at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where she leads the Wound Resource Nurse (WReN) Program - a ward based leadership network designed to strengthen wound care capability, education, and best practice consistency across multidisciplinary teams. Aiwei’s clinical and academic work is grounded in advancing wound management through research, care optimisation, and knowledge translation. She has co authored randomised controlled trials on prophylactic dressings for pressure injury prevention, published in the International Wound Journal, contributing to the growing evidence base in preventative wound care. Her broader work emphasises interprofessional collaboration, implementation science, and patient partnership as essential drivers of improved clinical outcomes. Aiwei is an active national and international speaker with an established presence across Singapore and the Asia Pacific region. She represented Australia at the APAC and Türkiye Wound Hygiene Advisory Board meetings in 2025, contributing to co authored publications in Wounds International that highlight contemporary approaches to wound hygiene and prevention. She also collaborates with the National University of Singapore as a co developer and lecturer for wound care modules and advanced masterclasses, supporting capability building across the region. Aiwei is a faculty member of the Australian Wound & Skin Alliance, contributing to the 2024 and 2025 Summer Schools. She also serves as a Chief Examiner for AHPRA OSCEs, is a member of the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners, and is a former Education Officer on the Wounds Australia state committee.
