Dr. Christina Namatovu is a medical doctor trained at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College of Tumaini University in Tanzania. She has extensive clinical experience in burns and wound care, having worked in the Burns Unit at Mulago National Referral Hospital for eight years, followed by a further eight years in the Burns Unit at Kiruddu National Referral Hospital. She currently heads the Emergency Unit at Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital, where she is involved in emergency care, clinical leadership, quality improvement, and capacity building. Dr. Namatovu has undertaken specialised wound care training through the International Interprofessional Wound Care Course under the University of Toronto, Canada. She has also completed training in Health Management for Health Professionals at Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya, strengthening her expertise in healthcare leadership and management. She has served as faculty on the annual Burn Care Short Course at Kiruddu National Referral Hospital conducted under the auspices of Stiftung Interplast Holland, contributing her clinical experience and expertise to the training of healthcare professionals in burn management. Her professional interests include burns and wound care, emergency medicine, clinical leadership, healthcare quality improvement, and strengthening the capacity of healthcare teams to provide safe, effective patient-centred care.
