Dr. Cyaandi Dove serves as Director of the Diabetes Foot Program within the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Clinical Nutrition at Oregon Health & Science University and the Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Health Center. A podiatric surgeon, clinical researcher, and program builder, her work is focused on one of the most urgent challenges in modern medicine: preventing limb loss and improving outcomes for patients with diabetic foot disease. Dr. Dove is helping to build a comprehensive limb preservation ecosystem that extends beyond the clinic and into the community. She is developing a multidisciplinary podiatric research program, expanding access to clinical trials, and collaborating with colleagues across vascular surgery and endocrinology to formalize an integrated limb preservation model. She is also actively engaged in community outreach, with a focus on reaching high-risk populations earlier—because the most meaningful interventions happen before crisis, not after. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Dove has served as Principal Investigator in over fifty clinical trials spanning early-phase through Phase IV research, advancing therapies for complex wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers. Her work reflects both scientific rigor and a commitment to translating innovation into real-world patient impact. Prior to joining OHSU, she served as Director of Clinical Research in the Department of Orthopedics, Division of Podiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where she reinvigorated the limb preservation research program. She has also held leadership roles in academic medicine and private practice, integrating clinical care with research to accelerate adoption of emerging therapies. Dr. Dove earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco and completed her residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio under Dr. Lawrence Harkless, followed by a surgical fellowship at North General Hospital in New York. A published author in leading journals, including The Lancet, continues to advance the science of wound healing and limb preservation—working to redefine the standard of care and move the field toward a future where limb loss is no longer inevitable, but increasingly rare.
