KHOR BOON HANDr

Dr Khor Boon Han is an Orthopaedic Medical Officer at Hospital Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia, where he leads and coordinates the hospital’s Wound Care Unit within the Department of Orthopaedics. His clinical practice focuses on complex wound management, diabetic foot disease, pressure injuries, limb salvage, surgical debridement, negative pressure wound therapy, and the multidisciplinary management of chronic and difficult-to-heal wounds. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia and has pursued further professional training in wound care and occupational health. His work in Tawau has given him extensive exposure to challenging wounds complicated by diabetes, peripheral arterial disease, infection, and delayed access to specialised care, particularly among underserved populations in East Coast Sabah. Beyond clinical practice, Dr Khor is actively involved in wound-care education, clinical research, service development, and multidisciplinary collaboration. He is particularly interested in advancing practical and innovative limb-salvage strategies that can be applied in resource-constrained settings. At WUWHS 2026, he will present his work on transverse tibial transport in the management of vascular disease wounds, exploring its potential role in improving wound healing and limb preservation.
