Esther ThngMs

Esther Thng is a certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) with more than 15 years of experience in wound and stoma management. She holds a Master’s degree in Wound Healing and Tissue Viability from Cardiff University, United Kingdom, and is currently a PhD candidate with Curtin University, Australia. Since 2025, she has also served as an Honorary Research Fellow at Woodlands Hospital. Esther is the Director and Clinical Nurse Specialist of Sozo Wound & Stoma Care, a one-stop community-based centre she founded in 2012. Through Sozo, she provides specialised wound and stoma care to patients in the community, with a strong focus on clinical quality, patient education and continuity of care beyond the hospital setting. Esther has a deep passion for patient-centred care and believes that wound and stoma care is both a science and an art. Her current research interest focuses on diabetic foot ulcers, particularly how artificial intelligence interventions can improve clinical outcomes, patient engagement and community-based support for individuals living with diabetic foot ulcers. She is one of the founding members of the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses Chapter under the Singapore Nurses Association and is currently serving as the Chairperson of the Chapter. Esther hopes to continue contributing to the advancement of wound, ostomy and continence nursing in Singapore, and to inspire the next generation of nurses to develop an interest in this specialty.
