Sophie Whitelaw

Sophie Whitelaw, MSc, BSc (Hons), is Senior Principal Podiatrist and Podiatry Section Head at the National University Hospital, Singapore, where she leads a podiatry service providing advanced lower limb assessment, management and wound care across inpatient and outpatient settings. She holds an MSc in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair from Cardiff University and has nearly two decades of clinical experience in diabetic foot management, wound healing, offloading, and limb preservation. Throughout her career in the United Kingdom and Singapore, Sophie has specialised in the management of complex diabetic foot ulceration, infection, Charcot neuroarthropathy, and amputation prevention, with particular expertise in total contact casting and multidisciplinary care pathways. She has contributed to numerous wound care research initiatives, including the development of Singapore’s first wound registry and innovative technologies aimed at reducing ulcer recurrence. An active educator and international speaker, Sophie has presented at regional and global wound care conferences and is committed to advancing evidence-based practice, clinical education, and improved outcomes for people living with acute and chronic lower limb wounds.
