Dr. Janet S. Mackenzie, MD, ABPS, CWSP Dr Mackenzie has over 20 years’ experience as a plastic surgeon and wound care specialist in hospitals, clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home care. She has lectured and led educational workshops in wound care at congresses and symposia, co-authored multiple scientific papers, and recently published the book Wound Care at Home. She has trained hundreds of physicians in the specialty. She is now the senior director of global medical affairs for advanced wound care at Convatec. In this capacity, she leads research in patient outcomes as well as safety and efficacy of wound care products. Dr Mackenzie obtained a master’s degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, trained in general surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and completed training in plastic surgery at McGill University. She holds certification from the American Board of Wound Management and the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
