Dr. Ali T. Macatanong, MD, FPCS, FPATACSI, FPSUS, MSHHM, is a cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon from the Philippines with extensive experience in cardiovascular surgery, wound care, surgical education, and healthcare leadership. He currently serves as Head of Amai Pakpak Medical Center Heart Institute , Associate Professor III at University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines College of Medicine, and Head of Capitol University Medical Center Section of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. He was past president of the Cagayan de Oro Cardiovascular Specialists,Inc and Training Offficer of the Mindanao Consortium on Surgical Training. Dr. Macatanong completed his Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery training at the Philippine Heart Center and finished the Surgical Leadership Program at Harvard Medical School. He is a Fellow of the Philippine College of Surgeons; the Philippine Association of Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular Surgeons; and the Philippine Society of Ultrasound in Surgery, Inc. He is an active member of the Philippine Wound Care Society, Inc. An active researcher and international presenter, he has received multiple awards for scientific research in cardiovascular surgery and has presented his work in both local and international congresses. His professional interests include complex wound management, cardiovascular surgery, surgical innovation, and multidisciplinary patient care. He remains committed to advancing surgical education, research, and excellence in wound healing and cardiovascular outcomes in the Asia-Pacific region.
