Dr. Sun Xu is a female attending physician specializing in Traditional Chinese Surgery at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree and accomplished her postdoctoral training at Nankai University.Her research agenda centers on the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medical intervention for refractory chronic non-healing wounds, with a core focus on diabetic foot disorders. As the fifth-generation academic inheritor of the Jinggu School of Ulcerative Diseases, she has been committed to the standardized clinical optimization and translational innovation of refractory wound therapeutics.She holds multiple academic and professional appointments, including Young Committee Member and Secretary of the 8th and 9th Ulcer Disease Specialized Committee of the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine, Committee Member of the Peripheral Vascular Disease Branch of the China Association of Chinese Medicine, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Ulcer Disease Committee of Tianjin Medical and Health Association.In terms of scientific research achievements, Dr. Sun has independently presided over one Youth Program funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and four municipal-level research projects. She has also participated in two national key R&D programs as a key research personnel. Furthermore, she serves as one of the primary drafting experts for the industry standard Guidelines for TCM Intervention on Diabetic Foot Wounds with Tendon Exposure. Up to now, she has authored over ten peer-reviewed academic papers as the first author, covering SCI-indexed journals and core Chinese academic journals.
