Dr Ummi Affah Mahamad did her undergraduate degree in University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, class of 2003. She completed her housemanship in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trusts before coming back to Malaysia. She completed MMed in Internal Medicine in University of Malaya in 2011 and was gazzeted as Internal Medicine Specialist in Hospital Ampang in 2012. Her heart is with Palliative Medicine right from the start. She then continued with subspeciality training in Palliative Medicine in University Malaya Medical Centre and followed by a year of fellowship training at St Benedict’s Hospice, Sunderland, United Kingdom. Shen completed her subspeciality training in Palliative Medicine in 2018 and is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Palliative Medicine by the National Specialist Register.
She has published in local and international journals and presented in international meetings. She is appointed as Honorary Lecturer at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia to teach Internal Medicine and Palliative Medicine to medical students.
She is currently a resident Consultant Palliative Medicine and General Physician at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur and visiting Hospital Picaso, Petaling Jaya.
