Rebecca has over 30 years of clinical experience spanning neurosciences, intensive care, vascular care, diabetic foot management, wound care, clinical education, and district nursing. She completed her Master of Nursing in 2006 and has maintained a strong commitment to advancing nursing practice and professional development throughout her career.
She has held multiple leadership roles within the New Zealand Wound Care Society, including Treasurer, Vice President, and now President. In these roles, she contributes to national and international practice standards and guideline development. Rebecca completed an advanced postgraduate certificate in clinical nursing in 2010 and went on to complete her Nurse Practitioner training in 2017. She currently practices as the Nurse Practitioner for Vascular Services.
Rebecca has presented at numerous national and international conferences and was a founding lecturer for New Zealand’s first Conservative Sharp Wound Debridement course in 2022. Her recent work includes research and innovation involving CAMPs, surgical site infection prevention guidelines, and published case series.Her professional interests include integrating innovation to enhance the patient journey, as well as clinical focus areas such as lymphedema, pyoderma gangrenosum, surgical site infection prevention, and the care of complex vascular patients.
