Yap Moi HoonProf

Professor Moi Hoon Yap is Research Lead of the Department of Computing and Mathematics. She is leading the Human-Centred Computing Group, with research focus on human-AI collaboration. Moi Hoon is the holder of The Royal Society Industry Fellowship (2016-2018) with a PhD studentship (2018-2022). She has received research funding from The Royal Society, EU Funding, EPSRC, Innovate UK, Cancer Research UK and industry partners. She is a member of the EPSRC ICT Strategic Advisory Team, an honorary research Professor of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, and Turing University Network Academic Liaison. She is leading computer vision research in biometrics, including face and gesture analysis. Her research expertise includes, AI-driven human behaviour analysis, sensor-based diagnostic for healthcare, imaging and computational modelling. In addition, she leads the development of FootSnap, an AI-driven app revolutionising automated diabetic foot screening, integrating cutting-edge cloud-based data services.
