Dr Rahul Khanna Professor, Dept of Surgery Banaras Hindu University Dr Rahul Khanna MBBS, MS, DNB, MNAMS, PhD, FAMS is Professor & former Head of Dept of Surgery, Banaras Hindu University. During his 33 years of distinguished service he has mentored 36 MS students, published 148 research articles, 12 chapters in books, made 24 CME / Guest Lecture presentations and has been president of UP chapter of Association of Surgeons of India in 2015. Besides his sterling contributions in General Surgery Dr Rahul Khanna has been instrumental in the development of specialties of endocrine, vascular and GI surgery by his clinical and research contributions. He has been awarded several best paper prizes including the ASICON-Betadine Best Paper Award during ASICON 2001 in Patna and Cipla Best Paper prize of Indian Association of Surgical Oncology. His research work has been acknowledged by several prestigious orations including the Subharti Oration, Prof SP Srivastava Memorial Oncology Oration, Prof SC Mishra Memorial Oration, Dr AK Mehrotra Oration and the Prof SN Mathur Memorial Oration. For his significant contributions to the enhancement of surgical expertise and training, his mentoring of student at all levels and his selfless delivery of surgical care of the highest order to the people of eastern Uttar Pradesh and adjoining states Dr Rahul Khanna was conferred the prestigious Dr SK Bhansali Memorial Oration 2025 of the Association of Surgeons of India during ASICON 2025 in Kolkata.
