Mr Abdul Manan

Mr Abdul Manan bin Othman is a Supervisor Assistant Medical Officer at Primary Medical Care Sector, Family Health Development Divison, Ministry of Health Malaysia, Putrajaya. He gained the Diploma in Medical Assistant at Kolej Pembantu Perubatan Seremban and BSc.Hons in Nursing Practice Development under Northumbria University, United Kingdom. He also gained the Certificate in Clinical Wound Care (CCWC) under Malaysian Society of Wound Care Professionals and Wound Care Management Post Basic, Ministry of Health Malaysia. He is also the trainer for the wound care programme in primary care .Besides being a speaker and trainer in both local and international arena, he is also a member of National Wound Care Committee and project member for the planning Manual Wound Care 2nd edition guidelines of 2023.He is the active member for Malaysian Society of Wound Care Professional and hold the position as a Clinical Executive. With a career that began in 2011, Mr Abdul Manan has since become a cornerstone in the Malaysian healthcare system, especially in the area of wound care management. Over the years, they have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to patient care, particularly within the Ministry of Health Malaysia. Since 2016, Mr Abdul Manan has played a crucial role in the advancement of wound care practices, shaping protocols, and ensuring that patients receive the best possible outcomes in their healing journeys.

As a Wound Care Clinician, Mr Abdul Manan has always approached wound care with a holistic mindset, combining evidence-based practices with compassionate patient interactions. As a Supervisor Assistant Medical Officer, they have supervised and mentored countless healthcare professionals, particularly Assistant Medical Officers, guiding them to excellence in their practice. Their leadership extends beyond direct patient care.Mr Abdul Manan has been instrumental in the development of Standard Practice Guidelines for Assistant Medical Officers in primary health care. These guidelines, which they were a key figure in formulating, are now utilized across the country to ensure the highest standards of practice.

As a Clinical Executive for the Malaysian Society of Wound Care Professionals under the Global Leader Prof Dato’ Dr Harikrishna K.R Nair, Mr Abdul Manan has been a driving force in organizing national and international conferences, most notably the Global Wound Conference, where healthcare professionals gather to exchange knowledge and advance the field of wound care. Recognized for his leadership and expertise, Mr Abdul Manan has been invited as a speaker at numerous prestigious events including METNEP Programme organized by M&T Network Consultancies. He recently shared their insights at a leadership conference, where he inspired nurses and assistant medical officers to embrace leadership roles in healthcare. The speaking engagements have also focused on critical topics such as Wound Assessment and Documentation, Acute and Chronic Wounds, Wound complications, and the importance of being champions of wound care in primary care settings.

An advocate for continuous learning, Mr Abdul Manan was recently celebrated as the Best Student in the Post Basic Wound Care Management graduation ceremony, a reflection of their dedication to lifelong learning and excellence in their field. Outside of the clinical setting, Mr Abdul Manan is passionate about community outreach. They have spearheaded innovative initiatives, such as online wound care case series discussions and promote wound care awareness to the wider public.
