Dr Anantha Kumar Ramachandran

Dr. Anantha Kumar Ramachandran is a distinguished clinical leader and educator with over 20 years of experience, specializing in advanced wound and stoma care management. He currently serves as the Head of the Wound and Stoma Care Unit at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, a position he has held since 2016.Dr. Anantha is a pivotal figure in the Malaysian wound care landscape. He serves as a Central Committee Member of the Malaysian Society of Wound Care Professionals and contributes to hospital governance as a member of the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Medical and Advisory Board. Since 2024, he has shared his expertise as an Adjunct Lecturer in Wound Management at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). Furthermore, he has been appointed as the Academic Advisor for the Ministry of Health (MOH) Wound Care Post Basic Programme for 2025.His academic background is extensive, featuring an M.B.B.S. from the University of the West Indies and a Masters in Public Health from UMS. He holds specialized credentials including a Post Graduate Diploma in Wound Care Management from Lincoln University and the Certificate in Clinical Wound Care (CCWC).As the Sabah State Wound Care Trainer and Facilitator, Dr. Kumar is dedicated to clinical excellence, frequently lecturing on diabetes management and infection control.
